Why did I dedicate a year to writing a screenplay?
When I was twelve, I fell in love with photography. I didn't know why. Then, I fell in love with videography. I didn't know why. In high school, I fell in love with writing. Then storytelling. Eventually, I put it all together into filmmaking. Still, I didn't know why.
Then, in my last year of college, I began to truly embrace my Catholic faith. That’s when I started to see it. I began to realize that my desire for the perfect picture, the perfect video, the perfect story, the perfect film – it was all a desire for something deeper. Something that cannot be explained, but almost sensed – when the image comes together just right, when the story unfolds, not in the way that you want it to, but in the way that it's meant to. Why is it meant to?
Because there's an order to things. An alignment. A beauty that doesn’t end. And I want to dedicate my life to finding small glimpses of it. So that maybe others can see it too.
